I
discovered
the
1948
Buick
88
Roadmaster
siong
near
the
edge
of
a
township
road
with
a
for
sale
sign
propped
in
the
window,
I
knew
that
I
wanted
to
shoot
it.
I
took
a
few
photos
with
an
instant
camera,
and
put
the
car
in
the
back
of
my
mind.
A
few
days
later,
during
a
test
shoot
with
Model
Janelle
Calvo,
I
knew
that
she
would
be
perfect
for
the
Buick.
I
called
the
car
owner,
and
he
tentaAvely
responded
with
the
price
of
the
car
(thousands
more
than
I
could
a?ord,
but
worth
it
to
a
savvy
collector.
I
explained
that,
instead
of
purchasing
the
car,
I
wanted
to
photograph
a

next
to
it,
and
the
bargaining
began.
While
he
iniAally
thought
I
was
trying
to
sell
him
adverAsing
for
the
car,
I
explained
that
I
was
o?ering
to
provide
him
with
professional
photos
that
could
be
used
to
sell
the
car,
and
would
also

a

magazine,
in
exchange
for
him
allowing
models
to
be
photographed
with
the
car.
It
was
a
win-?win
situaAon
for
everyone,
and
he
agreed.
This
does
not
always
work,
but
for
the

a

can
go
