The Music Scene WE  ARE  STILL  WATCHING…     Kaleido   came   onto   our   radar   last   year,   and   we   have   been   following   this   talented  Detroit-­‐based  group  ever  since.     The   band   recently   released   a   new   single,   “Watch   Me   Walk   Away”,   and   is   preparing  for  their  new  CD  release  party  at  the  Majes&c  Theater  in  Detroit  on  March   29th.      This  year,  Kaleido  has  been  nominated  for  SEVEN  Detroit  Music  Awards.  We   are   absolutely   honored   to   be   nominated   in   so   many   categories.   We   would   like   to   send  out  a  huge  thank  you  to  the  panelists,  and  anyone  who  has  voted  for  us.  The   DMA’s  are  April  25th  at  the  Fillmore,  Detroit.    Be  sure  to  check  in  on  Kaleido  at:  hTp://kaleidoband.com     DANIEL  HARRISON  AND  THE  $2  HIGHWAY     This  band,  described  as  a  “not  so  tradi&onal”  five   piece   band   from   Detroit,   MI.,   caught   our   aTen&on   when   their  song,  “Monster”,  was  used  as  a  score  on  a  video  for   The   Seekers   Paranormal   Inves&ga&ons   produced   by   Bill   Mealbach.     Since   then,   the   raspy   tones   of   this   band’s   first   album   release,   “Humidity”,   have   flooded   our   studio   speakers,   and   kept   us   company   on   the   road.   We   look   forward  to  catching  up  with  them  in  person  at  one  of  their   future   venues.   For   more   informa&on,   visit   the   band’s   website  at:    hTp://www.2dollarhighway.com       Photo  ©  WilliamRobert  Images   BIG  BROTHER  SMOKES     Hailing   from   Hemlock   Michigan   Big   Brother   Smokes   paints   a   musical   sound   scape   with   their   unique   blend   of   influences.   The   boys   have   been   playing   together   for   just   a   short  &me  and  have  already  had  great  success  with  their  self   &tled   debut   EP.   Big   Brother   Smokes   plays   music   for   the   soul   reason  to  have  fun  and  allow  others  to  join  in  the  fes&vi&es.       Following   up   their   self-­‐&tled   debut   album   with   their   second   CD,   “Waves,”   Big   Brother   Smokes   has   increased   the   tempo,   but   remained   true   to   their   stylized   harmony   that   makes   the   band   a   treat   to   listen   to,   making   them   another   band  that  we  hope  to  see  perform  live  in  the  neat  future.   For  more  informa&on,  visit  the  band’s  webpage  at:   hTp://www.reverbna&on.com/bigbrothersmokes     Modern Model Modern Model Page 18 Page 18
