The  Other  Models   By  Brian  Thornton         Keymonda   Hale   is   not,   by   any   means,   what   I   would   call   preDy   –   she   is   stunning.   Armed   with   height,   natural   beauty,   clear   skin,   a   radiant,   smile,   and   confidence  that  clearly  shows  that   she  is  not  someone  who  wants  to   model  –  she  will  model.    Terri  Galonska  stands  out   as  another  modeling  phenomenon   –   channeling   Marilyn   Monroe   as   she   enters   the   room.   Making   a   decision   to   enter   modeling   later   in   life,   she   has   charm,   intelligence   (don’t   let   the   pink   and   blonde   hair   fool   you!)   and   Pacific   Blue   eyes   that   should   be   marketed   as   an   expensive  custom  paint  color  that   can  stare  right  through  your  soul.     Ginger   Kewl,   who   also   entered  modeling  recently,  enjoys   being  in  front  of  the  camera  as  an   ar.s.c   acceptance   of   her   natural   beauty,   and   loves   modeling   as   much   as   a   true   hockey   fan   enjoys   a  good  fight  on  the  ice.     For   an   industry   that   has   refined,   restricted,   marketed   and   packaged   beauty,   however,   Keymonda,   Terri   and   Ginger   are   scribbles   at   the   edge   of   the   modeling   industry’s   notepad   –   too   old,   not   tall   enough,   too   tall,   not   slim  enough.     Working   as   a   cas.ng   agent,   I   used   to   pass   the   harsh   truth   of   the   industry   on   to   the   hopefuls  that  sat  before  me  as  we   reviewed  their  poruolios.  Some  of   the  agents  were  abrupt  enough  to   dismiss   the   models   without   even   opening   their   poruolios   –   some   were  much  worse.   Modern Model Page 21 Models   Keymonda   Hale   (standing)   and   Terri   Galonska   during   a   photo   session   at  Urban  House  Studio  in  Saginaw,  MI.   Photo  ©  Brian  Thornton
