Peanut Butter Cookies
By Summer Heath on January 2, 2015
I cannot think of peanut butter cookies without thinking of my sister
Mai. She has a real relationship with any form of peanut butter, but
things can get downright crazy when someone decides to bake
peanut butter cookies! I totally understand the desire to have a flaky,
buttery cookie like these. They have a moist, salty-sweet flavor that
just makes sense, and if you already have a love for peanut butter,
you are really hooked at first bite.
One year, I decided I would bake my sister a huge batch of cookies––
not just any cookie, her very favorite. I stumbled across the Land O’
Lakes recipe and thought I would give it a try. I have to be honest; the
huge batch my sister should have received grew smaller and smaller
as the day went by. Eventually, I made a second batch and took them
to her fresh out of the oven, to avoid any chance of eating her
dessert.
Sharing this recipe may be a good or bad thing. Good because the
cookies really are delicious and chances are you have all these
ingredients in your pantry already. Bad because, well, the cookies
really are DELICIOUS, and you cannot just eat one! My sister always
manages to get her vote in for a yummy peanut butter cookie when
we have our “quarterly dinners” (something all of us siblings decided
to do because life is so hectic, and we want to keep our bond close),
