What a ride!
For the last three issues of Modern Cyclist, it
has been quite a ride for all of us. From the
time our first issue hit the stands and goodie
bags, to now as you hold our third issue, we
have had a blast.
And it hasn’t been “that blast” which you
get when you complete a very technical
section on a mountain bike trail for the first
time, but rather that “blast” you receive
when people ask you when the next one is
coming out “because they enjoyed the first
one so much!”
So, on behalf of our publisher Craig van der
Westhuizen and the whole Modern Cyclist
team, I give you our third issue.
Yes, the Amashova has come and gone,
which can only mean it is 94.7 time. Oops,

wearing on your head!
Our Italian keyboard tickler tells us about
his attempts at getting rid of the winter
layers and our woman cyclist tells us how
other members of the fairer gender can
avoid those nasty moments on our bikes.
But it’s the interview with an alien that
will, hopefully, astound you the most. We
managed to track down South Africa’s
most famous cycling alien – which is a
scoop for Modern Cyclist – and we found
out that he isn’t just South Africa’s most
famous alien but is probably the most
famous cycling alien all over the world.
But if you are reading this after the race, I
really hope that you had a good one and
that you met your go
