Make sure you don’t miss the Western
Cape’s second biggest road race, Die
Burger Cycle Tour. It takes place on Sunday
30 November from Stellenbosch High
School and there are two distances, a 44
kilometre and a 97 kilometre ride.
Roughly 6 500 cyclists will take part in this
popular event and the 97 kilometre option
is also the final seeding opportunity for the
Cape Town Cycle Tour. Read more about
the Cape Town Cycle Tour on page 35.
Dad’s also rode
to Amashova for
charity
It seems that the ELB Challenge wasn’t the only charity
ride to the Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic last
month.
The 45 members of Dad’s Charity rode from
Johannesburg to Pietermaritzburg to raise funds for their
chosen charities, which include the Sunflower Fund,
CHOC, The Gauteng Down Syndrome Association (DSA)
and the Fulton School for the Deaf.
The group has raised just over R3.5 million since it
launched and are looking to top the R4 million mark this
year.
