n behalf of the Modern Cyclist
team, we would like to welcome you to the
Modern Cyclist family.

You are among the first of what we hope will
be thousands of Modern Cyclist readers. As
we grow, we hope to become your cycling
magazine of choice as we bring you news
of all things cycling. It is our sincere hope
that we will also entertain you, so we have
decided to jack up our writing skills with the
idea that you’ll actually enjoy reading our
various articles.
Although we are based here at Modern
Cyclist HQ in Edenvale, we strive to bring you
news from all over South Africa and, where
there are South Africans involved, the world.
And we’re not only talking about those
fortunate to be included in pro continental
teams, but also the many “privateers”
who venture all over the world in search of
amazing rides.
We would like to invite cyclists from, well,
anywhere really, to contribute articles,
photographs, snippets of information or “war”
stories with the only condition that they be
of a cycling nature. I personally know there
are cycling “communities” which can be
found everywhere from Bray to Bantry Bay.
We’ve even met a keen cyclist who hails from
Kokstad on our many travels so we hope we
