A STROKE OF MISFORTUNE
Life, as Brandon has come to expect, has a wicked sense of humour. Just when he was hitting his stride post-surgery, he suffered a stroke, while on a phone call at
work, no less.“ One minute I’ m talking, the next I’ m making dolphin noises,” he says.“ They realised something was wrong pretty quickly.” A blood clot had travelled to his brain, the result of his post-op blood thinners and a touch of bad luck.“ If I could just live for another
“ BRANDON FAIRWEATHER – YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!”
Yes, he did it. With his doctor’ s blessing( and after getting the very nervous green light from his wife and two boys), Brandon took on the Half Ironman.“ Look, they weren’ t thrilled about me pushing my body again,” he admits.“ But with everything I’ d overcome, I wanted to show my boys what it means to fight back.”
And fight he did— crossing the finish line, red carpet underfoot, beaming ear to ear as the words rang out:“ Brandon Fairweather – You are an Ironman!”
THE HELL IN HIS HEAD
While Brandon’ s physical journey is impressive, his mental journey is just as important— and arguably more relatable.
He’ s currently writing a book called“ The Hell In My Head,” a raw and unfiltered look at anxiety and depression.“ Mental health doesn’ t leave scars you can see,” he says,“ but it leaves ones you feel every day.” Brandon speaks openly about how anxiety can sneak up, especially when you’ ve experienced as much trauma as he has.“ If I can change just one person’ s outlook … help just one person face their darkness and not feel ashamed,” he says,“ then my job is done.”
A FRIEND, A FIGHTER, A FORCE
We’ ve watched Brandon evolve over the past 20 years— from theguy with the hustle and vision to grow Biogen into a health powerhouse, to a man who has faced death, despair, and disappointment— and still shows up with humour, humility, and hope.
He’ s a father, a husband, a brand-builder, a runner, a survivor, and now an author. His story isn’ t just inspirational— it’ s human. Messy, moving, maddeningly unfair at times— but always lived with passion. In Brandon’ s world, every setback is an opportunity, every diagnosis a dare, and every finish line just another starting point. And trust us— he’ s just getting started.
