#RunClean Campaign Goes Viral We took our #RunClean campaign to social media and were blown away by the response from runners… but we know this is just the first step in a very long battle to promote a cleaner sport and try to eradicate the litter problem in our races. – COMPILED BY SEAN FALCONER Letter to the Editor WHAT THE READERS SAY… Dear Ed, Runners come in all shapes and sizes and ages, and we all have different preferences on the road, but the course is the same for everyone, and the medal is usually the same, too (although some may get one a little shinier than others). While we share that course with other runners, we share it with our fellow human beings, too, and it’s incumbent on us then not to leave the course in a worse condition than what it was before we started running or walking It doesn’t take much effort at all to #RunClean and I’ve taken to trying to do my bit, and where there are no bins, I hold onto my sachets until the end of the race. I hope everyone else can start thinking and running in the same way. Happy (clean) miles. – Craig Pheiffer, Vista Vikings, Johannesburg Great effort, Craig, love your work! If we can get more runners doing this
