The TriRock Durban consists of a 1.9km swim at Bay of Plenty beach, followed by a 90km cycle through the M4 hills of
Tongaat and Ballito and back to Durban, then ending off with a 21.1km run on Durban’s new promenade. Here’s everything
you need to know for the big day on 5 October, when you’ll take on 113km of pure triathlon pleasure.
REGISTRATION
WHERE: At the SUNDeck at Suncoast Casino.
WHEN: Friday 3 October from 9am to 6pm, or
Saturday 4 October from 9am to 6pm. This will be the
only time you can register.
WHAT YOU NEED: ID, driver’s license or passport;
TSA license number (Note: the TSA fee can be paid
in cash at registration, R100 for solo and per relay
team).
RACE BRIEFING
Race briefings for both solo or relay entrants will take
place on Friday 3 October from 5pm to 6pm at the
SUNDeck at Suncoast Casino, as well as on Saturday
4 October from 5pm to 6pm at the Marahani Hotel.
BIKE CHECK-IN
Check-in will take place at T1 at Bay of Plenty on
Saturday 4 October from 3pm to 6pm. Athletes will
need their bike helmet, their RED run bag and
BLUE bike bag (both handed out at registration).
SWIM COURSE SESSIONS
Pre-race swim sessions will take place on the
Friday and Saturday morning (3 and 4 October)
from 6am to 9am at Bay of Plenty. Group swims
start every half hour, course buoys will be out and
lifeguards will be on duty. For more info, contact

• Each start group must proceed to the ‘pre-start’ area no later than 10 minutes
before their starting time.
• Only athletes and marshals will have access to the bike park and transition area.
• At registration, you will receive a coloured swim cap, timing chip and race
number. Please remember these on race day.
• If you lose your chip, please go to the timing tent at the swim exit for another
chip. You need your chip for timing and to get your bike and blue bag from T2.
• If you do not start, you still have to return the timing chip. This is done either in
registration or at the swim start.
CUT-OFF TIMES
Swim: All swimmers must be out the water by 8am
Bike: 10am at turnaround point, 12pm final cut-off at T2
Run: Final cut-off at 3pm
AID STATIONS

BIKE: There are three aid stations, at 22km (Sibaye BP), 44km (Ballito
at the turnaround point) and 66km (again at Sibaye BP). There will be
bottles of water, Energy Source Isotonic and gels from High5.
RUN: There will be three aid stations, approximately 1.6km apart,
serving runners in both directions. At each station you will find cups with
water and BOS Sport, Energy Source Isotonic and gels from High5.
TOILETS: Will be placed at all aid stations.
