just one week after the Comrades, the venerable
Don Lock Memorial Race proved to be a huge
success. Not only was new sponsor Modern
Athlete on board for the first time, but Celtic
Harriers added a 15km distance to the event,
starting an hour after the 8km, or 5-Miler as it
was originally known back in the day, which saw
a massive increase in numbers as the runners
came out to enjoy the two fast and flat courses.
