Entries Update
The 2014 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon looks set
to report a full house of entries soon, as the number of
entries received for the Ultra Marathon passed the 10 000
mark midway through February, putting entries some 2000
ahead of the same time last year! With the limit for the
race set at 11 000, ultra runners are urged to enter soon if
they still want to get in. The Half Marathon and Trail Runs
sold out earlier, but entries for the Fun Runs will still be
available up to and including race day.

Going Greener
Thanks to two more recycling initiatives, the World’s Most
Beautiful Marathon is going greener in 2014. Pre-race,
the adidas goodie bags handed out at the Old Mutual Two
Oceans Expo will be made from recycled plastic, and on
race day itself, the Chapman’s Peak section of the route
has been declared a plastic-free zone, so there will be
no water sachets. All cups dished out will be made from
biodegradable materials. The clean-up operation after
the race will remove all race day litter from the route, but
should something get left behind, the good news is that
it will not damage the environment. Last year,
