Who will be the ?rst 5150 African Champ?
European and 5150 US championship titles, the question closer to home is: Who will be crowned 5150 African champion in November? The Ekurhuleni 5150 African Championship is the third continental championship race on the international 5150 Series, making it a highly sought after event both for locals and internationals. Already on the Ekurhuleni 5150 African Championship starter’s list is 5150 Marseille champion, Antony Costes, who managed to edge the experienced Frederik Van Lierde earlier this year to take that title. The Frenchman will be up against some of the best South Africa has to offer as the pro’s vie for a share of the R200 000-plus prize purse and the all-important PRO ranking points for the 5150 US Championship. The winner will earn 1 500 points. Age group athletes will also have the opportunity to compete for qualifying slots to the Hy-Vee 5150 US Championship, with 10 slots per gender per age group up for grabs. Whether you’re an athlete or spectator, the Ekurhuleni 5150 African Championship is a race not to be missed. History will be made at Germiston Lake as the inaugural 5150 African Champion will be crowned this November. All new race, all new course, all action!
