Why Not Run through South Africa ?

MA : Well , you certainly pulled it off . Now , I know you ’ ve probably heard this many times now , but is there a next step planned , another challenge ?
CM : Yes , I have been asked that many times . I think you start off on day one and people are like , I wonder if he ’ s going to get to day 10 , and then it ’ s day 50 , and then eventually people are like , so what ’ s next ? And I know it may sound crazy , but while running around day 70 , 80 , I was already thinking that . Then I stumbled across a guy called Keith Boyd , who had just set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest run from Cape Town to Cairo , and I thought , I would love to do a run like that .
When approached by a close friend to make a short film about his journey thus far , and what is still to come , this is what Chad had to say : Why Not Run through South Africa ?
running 4000 kays , I tended to stay in the same place . So , I thought , why not run to a different place , and that ’ s when the idea formed of running across the whole of South Africa . So , I ’ m excited to say that from 1 November to 31 December at the end of this year , I ’ ll be embarking on another 4000-kilometre journey in the # RunSA2024 initiative , attempting to become the first person to run from capital city to capital city in each province .
MA : Break that down for us in terms of daily mileage , please .
CM : So , it ’ s 61 days , and this trip is going to be around 4100km , so it ’ s pretty much the same distance that I ran last year , but this time in a lot less time , which means the average daily mileage will be about 62 to 65 kays , which is a marathon and a half a day .
