The third leg of the 2024 Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series takes place in Durban in July , and participants can look forward to another fun-filled running extravaganza .
The seventh edition of the annual Absa RUN YOUR CITY DURBAN 10K on Sunday 7 July will once again offer participants a super flat and fast course that is tailor-made for records and personal bests , dotted throughout with fun , vibey entertainment and vibe activations . Participants are invited to be part of the party on foot , and join in painting the streets of Durban red in their official race T-shirts .

While many participants will be focused on the vibe along the route , the elites will be looking to take full advantage of the fast course . Last year , the world class women ’ s elite field , including then World Record-holder Yalemzerf Yehualaw of Ethiopia , were set off ahead of the men , in order to give them a clear road on which to race . When the men followed , it turned into an almighty battle between Kabelo Mulaudzi , Thabang Mosiako and Stephen Mokoka , and saw three local athletes dip blow 28 minutes in the same 10km race on local soil for the first time ever .
Fast Times Expected
More exciting racing is expected in the 2024 edition of the race , and Michael Meyer , founder of the series and Managing Director of Stillwater Sports , the event organisers , says he can ’ t wait to see the race unfold . “ Although it ’ s established itself as one of Durban ’ s most iconic mass

The Absa RUN YOUR CITY DURBAN 10K starts at 8am in Masabalala Yengwa Avenue , near the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium , and finishes on the Durban Beachfront Golden Mile . Each of the events in the 2024 series will offer finishers a unique , city-specific medal , adding a personalised touch to the participant experience , and all entrants in Durban will stand a chance to win a brand-new Chery Tiggo 4 Pro LiT , vehicle valued from R279,000 , in the pre-race draw !
