SA ’ s Dream Milers

The chronological list of Dream Milers produced by South Africa reads like a who ’ s who of the country ’ s middle-distance stars through the years , although there are also some notable SA running ‘ greats ’ not on this list . It must be remembered that stars of the 90s like Shadrack Hoff and Hendrick Ramaala , or more recent top performers like Stephen Mokoka , have often focused on longer distances , or did not get the opportunity to race the mile all that often , so not being on this list is by
TRAIL
no means a failure or disappointment . However , it does show just how much of an achievement it is for an athlete to be on this list !
This list is arranged in order of date of athletes ’ debut Dream Miles , with their race times included . The final column lists how many Dream Miles ( DMs ) they clocked in their careers .
