The Experience : Runners passing the Freedom Towers near Walter Sisulu Square , during the African Bank Soweto Marathon . This iconic race , consisting of marathon , half marathon and 10km distances , takes runners on a tour of the famous Soweto streets , passing many historic landmarks , while the streets are lined by thousands of Sowetans , who come out to support the runners each year .
