STEPHANIE ’ S STORY

Seven years ago , Stephanie was in a car accident , she has no recollection of the crash but was later told by the emergency personnel on the scene that the jaws of life were used to get her out of the vehicle . While just about every part of her body had an injury , one of the most serious was a fracture to her C3 / C4 vertebrae , she was in a coma for two weeks as her body healed to a point that doctors felt it safe to have her conscious . A long recovery awaited her , but taking it in her stride , Steph forged ahead . But a year later , after experiencing excruciating pain in her neck , she was told without another

surgery a small fall would leave her a paraplegic . Steph continued on her fight to be healthy , to heal , but after years of trying she was unable to find a form of exercise that didn ’ t hurt , that was until she tried running .
In the beginning , it was hard as she was so unfit but she was determined and before she knew it 5kay was a walk in the park , she was filled with gratitude with every step she took , and determination took over before she knew it , she had run her first marathon in a time of 4h14 , and this year she will be back aiming for a sub 4 .
