Totalsports partners with myrun to Inspire All Runners across South Africa

Totalsports is partnering with myrun , organisers and hosts of free weekly running events throughout the country , to inspire people to become more active and achieve their fitness goals , by making fitness accessible to everyone .

With beautiful parks , wine estates , nature reserves and other multifunction venues as the backdrop to its 2.5km and 5km marked routes , the growing number of myrun events are also quickly growing in popularity . These runs can be attended by any runners or walkers , no matter their age , fitness levels or abilities , and many in the myrun community are absolute beginners , who have been motivated to “ get off the couch ” and try their first myrun , starting with a 2.5km and gradually working their way to a 5km .

Myrun events utilise timing bands and autonomous timing pods stationed at the start and finish line to capture results as participants tap in at each section . This allows for automated individual starts , which reduces congestion , increases social distancing , and keeps myrun operating in a COVID environment . Individual starts also attract more beginners to myrun , by reducing the ‘ race pressure ’ felt in typical mass starts . The experience is further enhanced by live results that are updated in real time on the myrun website .
