WHAT DOES RUNNING GAIT ANALYSIS ENTAIL ? It is the process of identifying which way you walk and run in everyday life . It is largely got to do with your posture and the way your foot strikes the ground . The analysis will determine any abnormalities in your running style , whether you are compensating in certain areas which can cause injury long term .
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
• Neutral pronation , this is when your foot comes in complete contact with the ground and pushes off with an even distribution from the from of your foot .
• Underpronation , the outer part of your heel hits the ground first and your foot rolls inward . You push off with pressure on your smaller toes on the outside of your foot .
• Overpronation , your foot rolls inward more than 15 %, and you push off with your big and second toe .
TYPES OF RUNNING SHOES There are various running shoes to assist you according to your gait results .
• Neutral running shoes are for neutral / normal pronation , runners are classified to have normal-size arches and require shoes offering neutral cushioning that promote natural foot motion .
• If you underpronate you require a neutral running shoe with plenty of cushioning especially in the midsole and outside of running shoe .
• Overpronation requires a stability running shoes . Running shoes with extra support and structured cushioning .
