With more than 1000 races completed between them , including over 400 marathons and ultras , our team members have ‘ run the run ,’ and that allows them to ‘ walk the talk ’ when it comes to helping make the best buy for your own running . That ’ s the passion we speak of , as well as the knowledge , expertise and experience

Meet the Team
We ’ d like to introduce you to some of the experienced members of our team , who will be on hand to help you in our various stores .
Craig Gornall
Bedfordview store , Gauteng Craig has a Podiatry degree as well as 22 years of industry experience behind him . As a runner himself , he offers a very helpful skill-set from which he can provide footwear advice . Craig has also been a presenter at various running clinics – and he loves to talk running ! His Bedfordview store , located in the Bedford Arcade , is a safe space for all exercise-goers to test out some new shoes and get advice that is secondto-none . Craig is also an injury-guru , and he ’ s one of the best people to talk to if you ’ ve been struggling with injuries .
Nicholas Rupanga
Claremont store , Western Cape Nic is also known as the ‘ Shoe Doctor ’ by his colleagues , and has been with The Sweat Shop for over 10 years . He is both a friendly face and one of the most knowledgeable people in the industry . Nic has experience across all the facets of running , be it road , track , trail or cross-country running , and he has a holistic approach to footwear . His store , located at 29 Vineyard Street ( alongside Cavendish Square ), has one of the widest shoe selections in the country . You can also hop-on the in-store treadmill and receive a one-of-a-kind gait assessment .
Gail Strang
Broadacres / Fourways store , Gauteng Store manager Gail has 12 Comrades Marathons to her name , and she also has experience managing a Run / Walk For Life club – just part of her passion for all people and their abilities . She is very knowledge and would love to help athletes of every shape , size and ability ! You will also find her leading a weekly group run on Wednesdays from her store , starting at 5:30pm , which is open to anyone . In-store , Gail will offer you not only footwear advice , but heaps of her own experience in managing injuries , keeping fit and getting started as a runner . elite runners , while others simply enjoy running for fitness ; some have high arches and others have wide feet . Because of this , we collectively know how different products suit different feet , and different biomechanics . Which is why we are beyond just a running store !
Our approach is customer-focused and service orientated , and our expert staff will spend one-on-one time with you to perform an appropriate analysis that allows us to help you find the gear that fits your needs .
