Good Times Ahead for Vorentoe
Running Acadamy, Thanks to
Suunto and Murray & Roberts
Together with the Murray & Roberts Running Team, Suunto handed over new running devices to the Vorentoe
Running Academy towards the end of February in Auckland Park. The Vorentoe Running Academy, supported by
Murray & Roberts, is one of the top ranked running teams in the school league.
T
ogether with a device, the young runners each received a Suunto hamper
and had a fun-filled day on jumping castles and eating cake. Members of the
Murray & Roberts team and the Suunto Family spent some time teaching the
runners how to use their new devices.
“These young athletes make up the future of the sport, and with partners such as
Suunto, it is clear that they are getting the technical and physical support to be
even faster, and thus even more successful. Our goal is to ensure that some of
these young athletes eventually represent South Africa on the world stage, and this
incredible sponsorship gets them one step closer to that vision,” Ed concludes.
Club Chairman Ed Jardim says, “Our club’s many victories each weekend shows
a dominance of which we are justifiably proud. I’m equally proud to be associated
with the world’s leading sports watch company, Suunto, who presented their fine
time pieces to 52 development athletes of the Murray & Roberts/Vorentoe Running
Academy.”
