ADVERTORIAL If triathlon and off-road triathlon had a baby, it would be called TriTanium... 6 disciplines over 3 days makes TriTanium the first multi-discipline, multiday event to hit South African shores. Whether you’re a roadie or a MTBer, a trail runner or a road runner, a sea swimmer or a fresh water swimmer, TriTanium has a challenge for you. The only question is… ARE YOU TOUGH ENOUGH? T riTanium is something new, something different, something to shake up the usual routine, with a three- day stage race that takes place from 1-3 November in beautiful Ballito, in KwaZulu-Natal. The trail master at Holla Trails, Jasper van Vessem, has created brand new trails just for TriTanium and they are absolutely gorgeous, featuring challenging single track, wide sugar cane lanes and river crossings. The road ride offers breathtaking views over emerald hills and vales, sweeping turns, and heart-pounding climbs and descents. The running trails are also brand new and take you through verdant forests and fields, while the road run is fast and furious, starting with the scent of the sea in Durban and ending on the soft sands of Umhlanga. The inland swim offers calm, warm dam waters creating a welcoming environment, and you’ll be happy to know that the sea swim is also warm thanks to the Indian Ocean at its best. Days 1 and 2 take place at Sugar Rush, Holla Trails, Ballito, while day 3 goes down at Addington Beach, Durban Beachfront. It doesn’t get more varied, more exciting or more challenging than this! But this weekend isn’t only about the athletes, it’s about friends and family, too. TriTanium has made sure that everyone can join in the jol, spending an awesome weekend out and about. On days 1 and 2, supporters and spectators can enjoy the numerous attractions at Sugar Rush Park, including a kids’ MTB track, TUWA Beauty Bar, Putt Putt, Laser Tag, Trampoline Park and so much more. Then on day 3, they can enjoy the beaches between Durbs and Umhlanga, whether they choose to wave you off on Addington Beach, or cheer you over the line in Umhlanga. So, tell your buddies to pack their towels, cozzies, sunblock and six packs, and come support you. TriTanium has secured amazing partners who are adding huge value for participants and their families. • Tsogo Sun will give TriTanium preferential rates at all their hotels in the area. • Fabian’s Bicycle Transport is offering great rates from Gauteng at R850 for a single bike and R1200 for two bikes.
