Running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon is the pinnacle of achievement for elite athletes and everyday runners alike. On race day, runners from all 50 states and more than 100 countries will set out to accomplish a personal dream by reaching the finish line in Grant Park. The Chicago Marathon is a marathon held yearly in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Alongside the Boston, New York, London, Berlin, and Tokyo Marathons, it is one of the six World Marathon Majors. Thus, it is also an IAAF Gold Label race. The Chicago Marathon is the fourth-largest race by number of finishers worldwide. The race is limited to 45,000 runners and only runners who finish within 6½ hours are officially timed.
ITINERARY
Friday, 05 October 2018:
Arrive in Chicago and make your way to your hotel. Dependent on your arrival time, you could head to the marathon expo to collect your race bib. Thereafter enjoy a relaxed night tasting the local cuisine and meeting the locals.
Saturday, 06 October 2018:
After breakfast you can enjoy the sights and sounds of Chicago and enjoy a day in the city. The remainder of your day and evening are free for you to explore if you don’ t wish to join one of the trips.
Sunday, 07 October 2018:
Today is the day. The race start is 7:30 with waves at 08.00 / 08.35. After the marathon, you have the option to join a post marathon Gala Dinner and Traditional Show.
Monday, 08 October 2018:
With so much to see and explore in Chicago, today you have a day for sightseeing before travelling home.
