time, they almost always comment that they may find it irritating to run with something in their hands, but try this little pack out
and you soon forget you’re carrying anything. Using the same 300ml mini-bottle as the UltraLight Belt, this hand-held gives you
the option to run with only what you need. There are three styles available, with the Hydra Fuel model (left) just being a basic
hand-held with the four gel pack loops on the outer side, so that you can carry gels for mid-race nutrition. The Tech Fuel model
(right) includes a secure holder that stretches to fit any standard smart phone – particularly handy if using your phone to measure
your pace and distance – but just two gel pack loops. The third option is the Fuel Pack model, which includes a bigger storage
pocket with zip.

Wear-testing notes: If you’re looking for a wee bit more storage than the Hydra Fuel
range, try the Enduro model. Instead of a 300ml bottle, it has a 480ml (16 ounce) bottle, but it’s still lightweight enough and nicely
tapered to comfortably run with it in the hand. That’s mainly thanks to the well-cushioned and adjustable hand-held pouch the
bottle slips into, which is insulated with neoprene material to keep your fluid cold. The ‘burst valve’ nozzle only allows fluid out
when you suck gently on it, so no spilling, and it’s easy to refill or remove for cleaning. Two small waterproof storage pockets cater
for items like a key, or money, but best of all, just as it is with the smaller hand-held, you soon forget there is anything in your hand
once you start running.
