Fun Facts from the 2017 Discovery
Get Active Weekend
• For both the Discovery Triathlon World Cup and the Discovery Duathlon, 32% of participants
were female and 68% male.
• Most of the Discovery Triathlon World Cup participants were between 30 and 49 years old.
• Males aged 40 to 49 prefer the Standard distance Discovery Duathlon.
• Females aged 19 to 39 prefer the super sprint distance Discovery Duathlon.
• Discovery Get Active Weekend participants were predominately from the Western
Cape, followed by Gauteng, and the Eastern Cape.
