The UT100
The Ultra-trail 100km ( UT100 ) saw Hannes Namberger ( Germany ) and Dmitry Mityaev ( Neutral ) cross the line in joint first position in 10:45:35 . They had run much of the race together , and with 10km to go , they agreed to remain together until the finish . Drew Holmen of the USA finished third after a close race between him and his countryman Jared Hazen , who was fourth .
South Africans Daniël Claassen and Matthew Healy took the fifth and sixth positions , and they were followed in by the top four women , all international visitors to Cape Town . First women home was Camille Bruyas of France , clocking 12:15:21 , with Mimmi Kotka ( Sweden ) and Russians Varvara Shikanova and Ekaterina Mityaeva ( running under a neutral flag ) next over the line . First South African woman was Tarin van Niekerk in seventh place .

The PT55
In the Peninsula Traverse 55km ( PT55 ) race on Friday 26 November , the men ’ s podium was filled by internationals , with Robbie Simpson ( Great Britain ) first home in 5:00:28 , followed by Jeshurun Small of the USA and Mads Louring of Denmark . Well-known Cape-based athlete Landie Greyling was first in the women ’ s race ( 6:23:31 ) and 13th overall , finishing a mere five seconds before Kim Schreiber from Germany . Another South African , Sumé van Heerden , was third woman over the line and 16th overall , less than two minutes back .
