ICONIC TRAILS Based out of the historic Houw Hoek Hotel , in the Overberg Region near Elgin-Grabouw , runners can look forward to Fynbos and forests , rolling hills and rocky climbs , spectacular kloofing and cool river crossings , jeep track and some seriously fun single track , all offering stunning scenery and views . Each stage will feature a different route that is guaranteed to keep things challenging , yet exciting , while leaving runners in awe . And you ’ ll love the iconic Houw Hoek switchbacks near the finish !

TIME TO DRESS UP A tradition at the AFRICANX TRAILRUN is Dress-up Day , where runners are invited to don fancy dress or other accessories , and have a bit of fun out on the trails . Over the years this has seen all sorts of weird and wonderful costumes being worn , including tutus , wings , superhero costumes , Disney characters , doctor and nurse outfits , safari suits , tennis and golfing kit , full-length animal ‘ onesies ,’ and even a massive bear-head . And there are awesome sponsor prizes up for grabs in the best dressed competition !
PARTY ON FOOT Launched in 2009 , the AFRICANX TRAILRUN offers three days of magnificent trails , spectacular views , mouth-watering food , a relaxed atmosphere , and the best vibe .
