How To Choose a Bikini For Your Body Shape By: Pat Edwards Summer can be a time of dread for a lot of woman who are larger than average. The winter is a period when your body can be hidden, with all your imperfections tidied away. This may be true, but everyone wants to go on a summer vacation, so what can you do to feel comfortable in the sun? Apart from losing weight, and getting into shape which is not practical for the majority of woman - the only thing to do is choose a bikini which suits your body type. If this is your first time venturing into a bikini, then it can be a daunting prospect. Maybe you are a girl who feels you've reached an age where you want to feel more sexy on the beach, or by the pool. Maybe you have stuck strictly to swimsuits before, but now wish to take the plunge, well... First of all assess your body type - be honest. There are several recognised body types, which fall into these major categories; · Hourglass · Triangle · Inverted Triangle · Rectangle Skinny girls (with a rectangle shape) can also feel self conscious with their bodies, especially if they have small breasts. A bikini with gel, or padding in the cups can boost your confidence. Go for bright colours with more coverage if you d'not feel brave enough for a skimpy string, or micro bikini, even if your friends say you should. Boy shorts can enhance a small bottom. For the larger lady, then solid colours can be the best option. Mix and match as a darker coloured bottom can have a slimming effect. One school of thought suggests that the smaller the bikini, then the smaller it makes you look. You will need to try this out for yourself, and only go with what you feel comfortable with. Plan in advance what activities you are likely to participate in. As a bikini designed for beach wear, and sunbathing generally does not perform well in the swimming pool. You will need a larger coverage bikini made to withstand chlo rine if swimming is your ambition. The best overall advice though, is to go with quality. Pay a little bit more for your swimwear to ensure that you wear a suit that' not going to stretch, and distort after a few days. This will obviously ruin your holiday. designs.comfacebook.com/tekaydesigns 10 10 feedback@tk-
