The Yatra Collection
New York, NY – Watching the Indian sari-inspired shirts, chiffon tunics and
embroidered dresses accessorized by natural stone jewelry and hand-dyed
pashmina stoles march down the runways of New York Fashion week earlier
this year, Gayatri Khosla and Rati Bahadur smiled knowing they had launched
their best collection yet.“Feminine. Exotic. Sensual. The Yatra woman. That’s
what I see,” said Khosla who co-designs each piece with Bahadur. “The collection
appears to and does wear effortless. And that’s what we wanted. For us, 2014 is
about blending ease with a chic style, great quality and value for today’s lifestyle.
These pieces keep the Yatra woman looking fabulous without having to visit
her closet twice in one day.”Khosla and Bahadur co-founded and design The
Yatra Collection, now in its third and already most successful year.
In the last year alone, the Yatra Collection has been featured in New York,
Martha’s Vineyard, Chattanooga and Virginia fashion weeks. Khosla and
Bahadur have traveled along the East Coast, showcasing their latest designs in private trunk shows at high-end
boutiques, in charity events and at exclusive markets like Atlanta Apparel Luxe, Moda Manhattan and Intermezzo.
They’ll be featured in similar locations throughout 2014, including Hong Kong and Singapore, and are launching an
online store for worldwide shoppers.
Buyers are drawn to the story of Yatra, the feel of the clothes and knowing they are buying so much more than a tunic.
