Retailers differentiate because of different target markets, products and price ranges. Target Markets require different levels of customer servie, for example older generations need more attention. The price and products also affects the type of store as variety of one product would cause the store to become a Specilist Store.
This is due to the fashion Industry having such a wide range of products. The change in merchandise in a store can determine if a store is a Supermarket, High Street Store or a Specilist Store.
There is a wide variety of different stores from Outlet Stores, Concessions, Shopping Centres, Supermarket, Charity Shops, Online, High Street Stores and Pop Up Shops.
The price of the items in store can affect the store type. For example, a high end store such as Christian Louboutain wouldnt stock or display as much products as Primark. This is because they dont need high footfall as one sale can cover majority of their cost.
