and Development Labs) type combat jacket, blue-jeans modified with cargo pockets from an ERDL uniform, and jungle boots. Folds, creases, and other details are incredibly crisp. Even the laces of the boots are present! Other features sculpted on the figure include a utility belt with suspenders, ammo pouches, and a first-aid pouch - just to name a few. The figure’s left and right arms are cast separately. The right is cast grasping a Stoner 63 machine gun, while the left is cast gripping a lock of the POW’s hair as he drags him through the jungle. Canteens, a magazine for the Stoner, and K-Bar knife round out the accessories for the SEAL. The POW figure is cast in one complete piece. The figure is sculpted wearing typical Viet Cong clothing; a pajama-type collarless shirt with two front pockets and pocket-less trousers. Other nicely cast features include cloth folds, tied hands and Ho Chi Minh sandals, improvised footwear worn by VC made from cut-up truck tires for soles and cut-up inner tubes for straps. 48 Reference Osprey Publishing - Men at Arms 104 Armies of the Vietnam War 1962-75 (1) by Philip Katcher & Mike Chappell Osprey Publishing - Men at Arms 104 Armies of the Vietnam War 1962-75 (2) by Lee E.Russell & Mike Chappell Osprey Publishing - Elite 043 – Vietnam Marines 1965-73 (2) by Charles D.Melson & Paul Hannon Osprey Publishing - Men at Arms 157 – Flak Jackets by Simon Dunstan & Ron Volstad Vietnamgear.com David Brubakers Vietnam Equipment and uniforms Conclusion Very nice subject, exceptional sculpting and high quality casting. It can be built as a vignette with no additions. Very Highly Recommended. Scott Tyner Unique Master Models Unique Master Models [UMM] is owned and operated by John Vojtech, a man most famous for his IPMS Nationals award-winning models. John also has designed several tools throughout the years and has brought them to the community. The SCR-01 “Universal Scriber” is one of those tools. The SCR-01 is made from hardened steel and features two working edges. The first is a trowel-head scribing edge, while the second is an elongated knifeedge. The tool is billed as being able to scribe, carve, de-burr, scrape, and pierce. I use the long edge for cleaning up hard to reach seams and flattening out “bumps” in the plastic. But the “Scriber” is the real hero. I’ve used many other scribers, and this is by far the best. The design works great and allows for a good level of control while scribing lines. I’ve put mine through quite a scribing workout, and the tip is just as good as the day I got it. I cannot recommend John’s SCR-01 scriber enough. It’s a great tool, very well priced, and makes re-scribing those olds kits a breeze. Now onto that C-130 with raised panel lines... Rob Folden
