frame. In order to model the figures to represent a
US Army sniper team in Afghanistan in 2006, a lot of
modification was in order, but we’ll get to that later.
The sniper figure is cast in nine resin pieces, one
of which is the right hand grasping an M24 SWS
(sniper weapon system). Other pieces include the
head, torso, legs, a Camelbak hydration system and
various other pouches. The figure’s equipment is a
little dated for the time-frame I wanted to model,
but since issued equipment changed fairly often
and you typically saw a mixed hodge-podge of gear,
I didn’t see the need to change up everything.
The spotter is cast in eight resin pieces. The
two hands are molded holding a pair of what looks

sculpted with the torso has to be the most dated
piece of equipment that comes in the box. But, just
as some of the other pieces, with a little love and
care, this too can be passed off…or at least hidden

other gear.
The base is a two-piece plaster casting that
makes up the wall and the floor. I put these into
the spares box for a later project.
All the resin pieces are molded with nice clear,
crisp folds and details, a norm for Maciej and
Airborne Miniatures figures. Very rarely have I
encountered bubbles in the castings. Although the
