Summary
The traditional black or white manne-
quins, matte or glossy, are slowly changing
looks. The trend moves towards colourful
mannequins with more explicit facial fea-
tures.
- We can expect to see lots of greyish sha-
des – mostly matte ones, says Thomas
Smidt, CEO of European Mannequins & Re-
tail Design.
Additionally, the mannequins will look
more life-like with soft facial features
hinting at lips and a nose.
Apart from colour and effects, the latest
trend brings about brand new types of
mannequins. We will see more of the vin-
tage mannequin in textile material with
wooden arms, for example – both as full-
body mannequins and torsos.
- Generally, we will see a mix of different
types of mannequins. The adjustable
and movable wooden arms will make the
mannequins more life-like and less static.
Makeup and wigs for mannequins are also
in high demand. The style is abstract and
non-naturalistic. The many new features
generally add more life to the mannequins
and is a perfect way to elevate your win-
dow display, says Thomas Smidt.
