THE R AIN JACKET FROM THE SEA
A mid-length jacket for urban living which is
breathable and both water and wind proof. It
is made from 100% ECONYL, which is a material
made from abandoned fishing nets found in the
ocean. Approximately 650 000 tons of fishing
nets are dumped in our seas annually, and ever y
year the company Econyl picks it up to create the
material Tretorn uses to manufacture the Rain
Jacket From the Sea-collection.

THE BIO PLANT JACKET
A 100% degradable rain jacket, which is
both, wind and waterproof and is created
with nature’s own circular ecosystem
in mind. The urban and minimalist
jacket design also drew inspiration from
both militar y and medicinal technolog y
leading to the use of a fabric made out
of PL A (Poly Lactic Acid). Using cutting
edge technolog y, carbon dioxide can
be extracted from plants such as corn,
sugar cane and/or beets; this can then
be used in the manufacture of a plant
based polyester yarn. The material is
waterproof (10 000 wp/mm) by coating
it with a degradable Bio-PU. To make
the jacket fully degradable Tretorn
worked with the Italian producer Amni
Soul Eco Material to create a unique
biodegradable zipper made out of
Polyamide yarn.
THE SPHERE LIGHTWEIGHT JACKET
A lightweight, wind and water proof, breathable jacket per fect
for spring/summer urban or outdoor usage. This is the first
jacket made completely from Tretorn’s self-developed functional
material Ocean Shell. The fabric is a three-layer construction
made out of rec ycled polyester with a rec ycled membrane made
from PET bottles found in the Indian Ocean. The specially woven
fabric makes it light, flexible and easy to pack. The outer layer
of the jacket is treated with a DWR-impregnation free from fluro
carbon, which, in combination with the membrane, makes the
jacket completely water proof.
