STOCKHOLM FASHION DISTRICT Summary Helena Waker, CEO, Stockholm Fashion District: "Stockholm Fashion District is a lively and innovative di- strict, which is open all year round and works as a hub full of business and creativity with lots of showrooms, trade fairs, shopping days, production, pop-up events, education and development activities for the fashion in- dustry. During the fashion week, visitors can expand their know- ledge at our seminars via Fashion Business Academy. Our biggest news this season is the sustainability initia- tive "Encouragement for Action", where we collaborate with stakeholders and organizations to launch a new ini- tiative which is based on the 17 global goals for sustaina- ble development. Another thing you cannot miss is the exclusive exhibi- tion of the red, handmade paper dress, which is seen on this year's invitation. It is designed by Bea Szenfeld and photographed by Emil Larsson. We continue working on "Corners", which is our concept of curated exhibitors, where a selection of the district's brands is displayed. Immerse yourself in this area, find new inspiration as well as new brands. On Wednesday, August 15, the entire industry gathers for a festive summer party at which we will celebrate yet another fashion week and the positive development of the industry. Our ambition is to create a unique meeting point for business - a place that is open for the entire Swedish fashion industry. We have a lot of international visitors and an increased interest from abroad. In Stockholm, Sweden and the Nordic countries in general, we are known for design, but also for our values and our many fashion start-ups. MODEBRANCHEN. | ISSUE NO 04 JUL/AUG 2018 | 161
