FASHION TRENDS AW 20/21 ACTIVIST, BOURGEOIS & SPACE ROSEMUNDE KAFFE Environmental activists, Renaissance people, and astronauts provide inspiration for fashion in Autumn/Winter 2020/21. DEPECHE CLAIRE WOMAN MATINIQUE Suits for both men and women are important in this theme, and the jumpsuit also continues. Generally, the look has to exude comfort and softness, which means that more formal things are softened into a look that typically appeals to the Nordic market. We also see neutral colours in the Earth Acti- vist trend, but with greater variances in the co- lours, including red-brown tones, clay colours, dampened and deep green and yellow tones as well as Pale Mauve. The latter is a colour that combines pale rose pink with grey to form a quite delicate, feminine shade. B.YOUNG TREND 1: EARTH ACTIVIST Some of the sources of inspiration for the AW 20/21 season are uniforms and work- wear. This trend is fairly narrow in terms of colours, focusing on neutral tones of grey, blue-grey, sand/beige/off-white, and khaki. Aesthetically, though, the trend is fairly broad, and the style signals a sort of volun- tary use of uniforms - conveying a sense of community and togetherness. The clothes focus on comfort and functionality, but the look also has a classical style to it. The style can be seen as a counter-response to the part of fashion that is wild, without rules, and eclectic - that is, cobbled together with inspi- ration from different styles. The uniform trend is fairly neutral in its ex- pression, and it contains both casual and for- mal elements. Among its materials are teddy bear fabrics and lots of knitted garments, both in classical and oversize cuts. The trench coat, of course, has a natural pla- ce in this theme, and it is kept in its authen- tic colours but renewed with details and a silhouette that can be enlarged to create a more cape-like version. Utility details are seen both in material choi- ces and styling. Leather is also an important part of the trend when it comes to material choices. AW20/21 BY HELLE MATHIESEN
