initiatives as early as in 2004, and we have
been steadily been building on this foundation
ever since. Today, MAPP’s products are 100
percent sustainable, even buttons and zippers
come from GOTS-certified suppliers, says
Thomas Christensen, and Marc Christensen

SUMMARY
For A/W 20/21 the Danish fashion company
Marc Lauge launches jeans in 100% Organic
Certified Cotton.
It is the second generation of the company,
Thomas and Marc Christensen, who have
been at the forefront to make the brands more
sustainable. However, they emphasize that the
foundation for sustainability has been present
for several years, and that sustainability is in
line with the attitudes and fundamental values
of the family.
For the A/W 20/21 season the family business
is ready to market the initiatives.
- The Marc Lauge jeans are made from orga-
nic cotton. And when we market the concept
"go green" there are various initiatives behind
it. For example, our jeans are manufactured
in a factory where the owners have invested
in a water treatment system which gives 80%
in reduction of water when washing a pair of
jeans, says Thomas Christensen. His brother,
Marc Christensen, adds that their goal is that
80 percent of the products from the company
become sustainable.
For the plus size brand DNY, all cotton in the
jeans collection is now OCS certified.
- The OCS certification secure that we control
the entire process down to the smallest detail
from the cotton fields to the store, Marc Chri-
stensen states.
GOTS certification is another certification that
the company is working with. The label guaran-
tees environmentally and socially responsible
production throughout the supply chain.
