Money.
verer.
funktioner.

DANWEAR
SUMMARY
The Danish fashion industry has produced several outerwear
specialists, and one of them is located in Silkeborg in Central Jut-
land. Ole Poulsen heads up design development himself, and he
is looking forward to presenting the new collections at CIFF.
- Among our new products are wadded down jackets without
external stitchings. The padding is instead distributed using in-
ternal fusings, a new technology that gives a whole new look to
the items, says owner Ole Poulsen, who also advocates natural
materials such as fur, down, and cotton:
- It’s a fact that animals only produce good down and quality fur
if they are raised and treated properly. And that’s why we only use
the best quality products from leading suppliers. The whole que-
stion of artificial materials versus natural ones is very complex.
Fake fur, for instance, is produced using microplastics that are
non-biodegradable and harmful for the environment. So should
we prefer fake fur to real fur from well-raised animals? Our Black
Label outerwear with soft Racoon trim and real down is very suc-
cessful, but we also offer outerwear with fake fur to our retailers
who don’t wish to carry real fur or who want to offer both real and
artificial fur to their customers, explains Ole Poulsen, who adds
that his company is of course also up to date with the trend of
fabrics and fill made from recycled water bottles.
- At their core, our brands are about providing value for money.
When you buy our most expensive jackets, you’ll get the same
quality that the big international outerwear specialists provide. If
you buy our basic models from Windfield, you’ll get a good jacket
at a reasonable price. We’re expecting the beautiful Swept wool
coats to keep generating great sales figures, and as with our
other brands you get a lot for your money with Swept, says Ole
Poulsen. He adds that buyers can also look forward to the new
collection of rainwear from Da’Wi including new checks, stripes,
and prints — such as a lion’s teeth pattern and new variants of
leopard — as well as rain jackets in a range of completely new
trendy colours. Some of the models are designed to look like
wind jackets but with the functionality of a rain jacket.
