Summary
LauRie gears up its organization to match recent growth
and the company’s ambitious future plans. Last autumn,
Anne Melgaard Thorsen was hired as head of design and
products. Anne Melgaard Thorsen has spearheaded the
design for LauRie’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection. She
joined LauRie after 16 years of developing collections and
prints for brands such as St. Martins at Metropol. She has
already launched several initiatives at the company including the introduction of express items.
LauRie has also expanded with a new head of sales and
marketing, whose primary focus is to maintain and develop
the Nordic market. Christina Lind will take on the new position as of June 1, 2016. She has previously held similar
positions at Spirit Wholesale and DK Company.
From now on, LauRie’s head of sales Peter Wædeled will
focus sales efforts on new markets, including Germany,
Holland and England. Area Sales Managers specialized in
each of the export markets are hired to help realize the
growth plans.
- Since we are intensifying our efforts on new markets
south of the Danish border, we need a person who can
focus on our sales efforts in current markets in the North.
That’s basically the reasoning behind the new hire, and
in addition we are planning on devoting more resources
to strengthen the professional branding of LauRie, says
Henrik Hansen and adds that one of the first tasks will be to
communicate LauRie as more than “just” a trousers brand.
