Artikel/article POP, PUNK & GRUNGE from Solid På CIFF viser det danske herrebrand Solid tre markante tendenser inspireret af 80’ernes punkmiljø, 90’ernes grunge-scene og Pop Artens pixellerede tegneserieunivers. Danish men's fashion brand Solid shows a powerful Main Fall Collection including three distinctive trends inspired by the punk scene of the 1980's, 1990's grunge style and the pixelated comic strip imagery of Pop Art. Solid Two powerful decades make their mark on the new Main Fall collection from Fashion for Urban Hobos the new collection at CIFF i Copenhagen. - The lumberjack shirt is top of the trends Solid, says marketing director Hanne E lgaard from CNS Group in Denmark. The Solid team is looking forward to showing - The Solid Autumn Collection brings together the strongest trends from two de cades, resulting in a homogeneous and international fashion look, explains Hanne Elgaard. - New Punk is a fresh take on the punk scene of the 80's, but leaving out the political and rebellious connotations, she says. Elements of traditional rock 'n' roll are given a twist of tough and punky details such as graffiti, punk check patterns and statement prints. In an exciting new look of black and white, the college trend is mixed with rock 'n' roll to bring a tougher, harder edge to traditional college styles. The colourscale is stringent, playing around with graphic combinations of greys, black, white and dried-blood red. _98 Another take on the season is the Urban Hobo theme for the adventurous at heart - the traveller who likes to mix different materials and second-hand finds. once more, and combined with a tradi- tional Icelandic sweater and a well-worn flat cap, this creates an unpretentious look with a clear nod to "days gone by", says Hanne Elgaard who also points out that a completely new aspect is the mixing of ma- terials in a single item, seen for instance in a checked shirt with a cord collar or a knitted top with sweat fabric sleeves. Dip-dye and tie-dye feature in T-shirts, knits and shirts, and the twist of little maritime details such as rope ties on hoodies and buttons carved from bone, wood and horn bring a 'natural feel' to the overall style. The olours are army green, claret and c cho olate mixed with golden yellow, faded c black and grey marl. A different story altogether is Pop Pixels, Pop Pixels which draws on Pop Art cartoon imita- tions and the digital games universe of the 1980's. Computer symbols, statements and comic strip prints are pivotal in this collec- tion, and the materials reflect a man-made world dominated by plastic, nylon and polyester. While the colour scale appears calm with muted base colours, these are enhanced by tiny bold dots to create a pixel ated effect. This makes for an easy-going, About Solid random look, while the use of mesh fabrics in outerwear and ribbon Solid is a market-oriented brand, with a strong focus on quality products at competitive prices.
