Bourgeois Boheme is a Vegan footwear company which promotes slow design and uses the most eco-friendly and vegan materials available- their products are ethically and sustainably hand-crafted in Portugal.
The brand wants to make people aware that using ‘natural’ materials such as real leather is very damaging to the environment in comparison to synthetic materials which are being used in the industry; although leather is a natural material, many chemicals (such as Zinc, lead, cyanide, formaldehyde and other dyes) are used to treat it and the slow decomposition of the fabric, as a result of the use of these, creates a larger quantity of refuse.
They also want to make people aware that the use of these chemicals can have a negative impact on the health of workers.
