Pershke-Monk Wedding
After meeting in college at UNC-Chapel Hill , Lauren Pershke and Will Monk exchanged vows eight years later at Christ Church , where the bride ’ s great-great-grandfather , Milton Augustus Barber , formerly served as reverend .
The bride walked down the aisle in her mother ’ s heirloom veil while the groom and groomsmen , donned custom Peter Millar suits , a nod to where Will works .
Casey Harris of Events by La Fete and Kelly Odom of Kelly Odom Flowers incorporated an early-spring motif at the Merrimon-Wynne House , with pops of pink florals and lush greenery contrasting the historic venue ’ s bright white exterior .
Using vines imported from the Amazon rainforest , Kelly crafted a one-of-a-kind floral chandelier sprouting with pink orchids , featured in the tented lawn . String lights , drum shades and lanterns draped in smilax invited warmth and merriment throughout the tent to the dance floor .
Guests enjoyed cocktails , dinner and late-night bites provided by HL Catering Company while the band , and surprise guest
Ramses , electrified the dance floor .
