and children that have been trafficked (lotusoutreach.org). Human trafficking is prevented by enrolling at-risk children into schools and by providing transportation to their schools (lotusoutreach.org). Had this transportation not existed, these now students would have had no way to get to school, and would be isolated in their town. If a woman or child is trafficked, it works as a safety net, and gives victims a safe place to live, as well as food and water. It also gives these unfortunate people the resources they need to get through their tough time, such as social help in the form of counseling and someone to talk to (lotusoutreach.org). The care they give to at-risk people and the formerly-trafficked, allows them to feel a sense of love that is much needed when they feel vulnerable. Finally, Lotus Outreach gives the less fortunate opportunities to succeed in life. The opportunities come in many different shapes and sizes depending on the individual. For some, these opportunities are college scholarships given (lotusoutreach.org). This enables the individual to become more confident with themselves and to become successful financially in life. For others, this opportunity could be overall sanitation (lotusoutreach.org). In these third world countries, sanitation is dismal, and with little money in donations, the people of India and Cambodia will have access to clean water from deep-bore wells. Clean water is essential for human life. This allows people to drink without worrying about diseases and can be used for washing clothes. All the individual things Lotus Outreach does for Cambodia and India allows for better education, better opportunities, and better sanitation. But, really, what it’s doing in these countries is really setting them up to become more modernized and hopeful for a better future altogether. "Human Trafficking." Wikipedia.
