Telefónica to deploy ASSIA broadband auto-fix product

• Network to roll out ‘ Expresse ’ fault diagnosis and repair solution in South America first

Operator Telefónica is to deploy ASSIA ’ s ‘ Expresse ’ solution , which diagnoses and automatically repairs faults , on its broadband network .
The move , which affects eight million Telefónica subscribers , will see the operator expand its threeyear contract with broadband services provider ASSIA .

Distributor Micro-P has appointed a new product manager for its unified communications ( UC ) division .
Dan Burgess joins Micro-P from UC supplier Rocom , where he spent almost two years managing relationships with manufacturers such as Polycom , Jabra and Plantronics .
He also spent a year and a half at POSTcti , a Microsoft Gold Partner specialising in Microsoft Lync and Office software .
His appointment to Micro-P is effective immediately ,
Communications provider Multitone has won a contract to provide NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde with its i-Message product .
Multitone ’ s i-Message is an IP-based system which ensures correspondence is sent only to those who are on call and available .
Users are notified of the status of their message , for example whether it has been delivered and acknowledged , so that action can be taken if no response is received .
The product also allows all communications to be stored
Telefónica ’ s South American markets , including Argentina , Brazil , Chile and Colombia , before coming to Europe .
It features services such as ClearView , which tracks network problems to their source and feeds recommendations about how to fix them back to a contact centre agent or field technician .
It will also reduce the network ’ s power consumption , in order to help Telefónica
