Interview with
Lucinda cross

Founder of Activate Your Life Today! a leadership services firm specializing in personal and professional development enrichment programs, Lucinda Cross is a bestselling author, internationally known speaker, mom
of three, and wife. She was recently featured in Essence Magazine and
appeared on The Today Show, where she talked about vision boards. Lucinda’s success has been a combination of process and positioning.
We recently had the opportunity to interview Lucinda and discuss
her incredible journey.
MMIA: How did you become the Chief Activator?
Lucinda: I felt the passion and pull to do something more. I realized there was a
need. People were creative. People had ideas. People were looking for ways to
build their businesses. But internally there was a lack of push and drive. I
wanted to create a group of women who are great finishers’ and great
starters. So that’s what the Activate movement. I was a huge procrastinator. I was the one that would self-sabotage myself. I
left corporate America officially in 2006 but before then I
was a full time entrepreneur but also working full time in
my career. And so I knew that one of them had to leave.
And I said as soon as I make enough money then I’m
outta here. I wanted to find out if my plan in marketing, if that’s something people would pay me for.
And as soon as I started receiving checks and started making more in a month than I did in 6 months
of my career I was out of there. And that’s what
really pushed me to stay in the game.
MMIA: You didn’t start out as a coach right
away, right? What were you doing before that?
Lucinda: I started out from behind the
scenes. I was the one writing copy,
ghostwriting books, presentations for
other coaches, authors, speakers and
handling their campaign form the
