MMIA: Why did you decide to
become an entrepreneur?
APRILLE: I didn’t decide. It’s
who I am. I’ve always had a free
entrepreneurial spirit. I enjoy making
things work, solving problems and
making a difference in the lives of
others.
MMIA: How do you balance the roles
of mommy and entrepreneur?
APRILLE: Not very well I have to
admit. Sometimes following your
purpose and being obedient to God’s
calling on your life supersedes the
needs of your family and often times
my own personal needs as well.
Thankfully I did a pretty good job
raising my daughter and she’s grown
to be a well-rounded young woman we are BFF’s! She’ll be 20 this year.
MMIA: How do your children feel
about mommy being an entrepreneur?
APRILLE: When my daughter was
three years old I remember her telling
me when she saw homes for sale, she
would say “mommy! real estate..” at

that time I was a real estate agent.
I thought it was adorable, she has
always known that I am an extremely
hard worker and committed to
completion in anything I set out to do.
I’d like to think she’s super proud that
I am her mom!
MMIA: Does your husband support
you and your business?
APRILLE: Yes, I couldn’t do
this without him! I have been in
relationships where my mate wasn’t
supportive...and that’s not something
I could ever go back to. Making a
difference is too important to me to
allow someone to stifle my growth.
MMIA: What advice can you give to
the woman who is reading this right
now and thinking there’s no way she
can start a business while running her
household?
APRILLE: I’d say to her there is no
way you can’t do it. Dig deep and make
it less about you and more about the
impact you’ll make as a result of you
stepping out there.
