“My life as it is now; I could not imagine being confined to office hours and
office politics.”
MMIA: When did you decide to become an entrepreneur?
STEPHANIE: It actually wasn’t a decision, but a matter of survival.
I started my professional career at the age of 18 as an Administrative
Assistant in the human resources department of an Engineering and
Construction Management firm. I had been gainfully employed for over
10 years (switching employers a few times) before experiencing a layoff
that turned my life and world upside down. After laying off most of my
division, I found myself unemployed for the first time in my career. I
blew through my severance package within a year and found myself 3000
miles away from home --- and homeless. I was determined to NEVER
allow anyone’s decision to have that kind of effect on my life or career so
I started a Resume Writing company- - which failed miserably!
MMIA: How long did it take you to go from business idea to actually
seeing income?
STEPHANIE: My first business was defunct within the first nine months
of its beginning. After losing everything, I wrote a book called, Why
Should I Hire You? and it was my second wind and became a new career
path (author, career expert and speaker). Within six months of releasing
