Overview of Visits
The MLS Local Visit took place from 5 to 8 March 2018. Two
organizations (one a school and, another, an edutainment organisation)
were chosen for the attachment. The eight participants were divided into
two groups to provide the opportunities to be attached at both
organisations. The following table shows the groupings:

Fernvale Gardens School (FGS) is one of the four Special Education
(SPED) Schools in Singapore that is run by MINDS (Movements for the
Intellectually Disabled of Singapore). The targeted students are those
diagnosed with moderate to severe intellectual disability, including
those with co-morbid autism spectrum disorder. The students range
from 7 to 18 years of age. The school is currently located at 7 Fernvale
Road.
The school vision is `School of excellence where every individual
matters’ and the school mission is `To provide a vibrant learning
environment that inspires students towards independence and
integration into society’.
