To better prepare their students for internships and increase their
chances of open employment, teachers work as a team to identify
students who show potential in travelling independently and further
teach them appropriate social behaviours and work attitudes. The Job
Coach would then look out for suitable internship opportunities. For
students who may not be ready yet for open employment, upon
graduation, they may continue to develop their vocational and social
skills in Employment Development Centres such as SIA-MINDS
Development Centre or Woodlands Employment Development Centre.
Those who may have more challenging behaviours or require greater
specialised intervention to acquire independence may go to Training
Development Centres.
